The book covers different topics from education to culture to non violence to democracy.But what strikes you is the understanding Gandhiji had of Bharat and it's people. He derides western culture as the one obsessed with only materialistic things and focused on making homes bigger and better and indirectly questions us about our understanding of development.His idea of Swaraj is different from independence which we have come to equate it with.One may not completely agree with his idea of non-violence but is definitely impressed with his confidence that Bharat is still alive because of it's culture of 5000 years. It is this culture which will guide us into the future and not the western concept which is still evolving.A must read for someone int
